Some presents come wrapped in ribbons.
Others lay hidden beneath a tree.
But the gifts we often overlook
are quiet moments of togetherness
that define our memories.
This holiday, join us as we celebrate this fact because every moment is a gift
just waiting to be unwrapped.
The Approach
For more than 50 years, Ralph Lauren expertly curated and captured picture perfect moments from the holiday season — elevating family gatherings to something aspirational and iconic. But in real life, holidays are a huge stressor for many. The preparation to have the perfect Christmas takes its toll on 41% of Americans, who confess to working too hard to achieve it. From shopping to travel to even sitting down for dinner, Americans just can’t seem to enjoy the moments preceding the most “wonderful time of the year.”
After discovering this, I strategized that we use our Holiday campaign to evoke the feeling of gratitude. I came up with the tagline “Every Moment is a Gift.” It means all moments big and small should be celebrated in our lives. And in the case of our campaign, the moments leading up to the holidays should be celebrated, too — from packing, traveling, shopping and celebrating — we looked to romanticize the journey of getting there, getting home and getting together as a family.
